About us
We are a team of hard working individuals, committed to providing the best interpreting and translation service in the North West. Our friendly team can advise on all aspects of interpreting and translation.
Our customers are many and varied and we enjoy long-standing working relationships with local authorities, NHS trusts, tourism and cultural organisations, solicitors, colleges, voluntary organisations, Personal Social Services (PSS), Mental Health Services, local councils and community organisations.
While most of our work is in the Liverpool area, we do have customers in other areas of the North West.
History of Beacon Languages
We began in 1989, when Liverpool City Council formed ‘Merseyside Translation and Interpreting Service’. It provided services not just to the Council, but to other companies and organisations as well as to members of the public.
Later, as ‘Novas Languages’ and most recently ‘Talking Point’, we were part of the national charity, ‘People Can’, formerly known as ‘Novas Scarman Group’. ‘People Can’ closed in November 2012, and the languages unit staff decided to set up their own agency, ‘Beacon Languages Ltd’.
